Position Overview:
As an instructor, you will lead engaging and energetic indoor cycling classes that combine the benefits of cardiovascular exercise with the excitement of rhythm-based movement. You will inspire and motivate our clients while delivering a fun and challenging workout experience. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong background in fitness instruction, a passion for music, and a desire to help others achieve their fitness goals.
Responsibilities:
Class Instruction: Lead high-energy, rhythm-based indoor cycling classes that incorporate music, choreography, and motivational coaching. Develop and deliver well-structured workouts that cater to participants of various fitness levels.
Client Engagement: Create a positive and inclusive environment in every class, fostering a sense of community and encouraging participants to push themselves beyond their comfort zones. Provide personalized attention and modifications when necessary to ensure a safe and effective workout for all participants.
Music Curation: Select and curate a diverse range of music playlists that complement the intensity and rhythm of each class. Use music to enhance the overall experience and create an immersive atmosphere that motivates and inspires participants.
Performance Monitoring: Continuously monitor and assess participants' form, technique, and effort during classes. Offer constructive feedback and guidance to help participants improve their cycling technique, maximize their workout, and prevent injuries.
Class Preparation: Prepare and plan classes in advance, including selecting appropriate music, choreography, and workout sequences. Ensure that all necessary equipment and supplies are available and in good working condition.
Professional Development: Stay current with the latest trends and techniques in indoor cycling and fitness instruction. Attend workshops, training sessions, and corporate conferences to enhance teaching skills and broaden knowledge.
Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service by assisting clients with inquiries, providing information about class schedules, memberships, and studio offerings. Build rapport with participants and cultivate long-term relationships to encourage loyalty and retention.
Studio Support: Collaborate with studio management, fellow instructors, and sales interns to maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment. Assist with studio operations, including check-in procedures, equipment maintenance, and resolving customer issues or concerns.
Requirements:
Certification: Possessing a recognized indoor cycling certification (e.g., Schwinn, Spinning, or equivalent) or equivalent qualifications in fitness instruction is preferred, but not necessary.
Experience: Previous experience as an indoor cycling instructor or group fitness instructor is strongly preferred. Demonstrated ability to lead engaging and dynamic classes with a strong focus on rhythm and music.
Cycling Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of cycling techniques, proper form, and safety principles. Ability to effectively cue and coach participants to optimize their cycling experience.
Rhythm and Music Appreciation: A passion for music and an ability to create playlists that align with the intensity and flow of the class. Skill in syncing movement to music and using rhythm to drive the energy of the class.
Energetic and Motivational: Ability to inspire and motivate participants through dynamic coaching, positive reinforcement, and a contagious enthusiasm for indoor cycling.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to deliver clear and concise instructions to participants. Strong interpersonal skills to connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds and fitness levels.
Professionalism: Present a professional appearance and demeanor, adhering to the studio's dress code and representing the brand positively.
Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including mornings, evenings, and weekends, to accommodate the studio's class schedule and special events.
